Monday Outing

Pictures from Monday's outing:

The Dome of the Rock by the Western Wall
- this entire area is the muslim quarter of the Old City

We were walking along the wall, the city wall around Jerusalem, when the muslim call to prayer started going and went on for about three or four minutes. The call is played through these loud speakers so that is spreads throughout the entire city. If i am correct, these speakers also double as air raid sirens, but haven't been used for that in quite a long time. :)

Me, Benia, and Jess - Ben is taking the picture; it was the four of us hanging out all day in the city

Benia and Jess hanging out on the city wall. From this wall you can almost see our school if look just beyond the wall in the distance. This is only a few minute walk from our school. How awesome is that?!

I wasn't content to just look at the wall, i had to climb it and look over the edge

Ben, who took somewhere around fifty billion pictures on monday

This is Benial playing soldier on the wall. He's an MK, so we let it slide

Until he got arrested by the Israeli military.... ok, he wasn't arrested. they're actually pretty neat guys we met on the wall and asked if we could get their picture. they were happy to, and of course posed as tough soldiers when we took the picture. the rest of the time they were smiling and talking :)

Then we met George in some road in the Old City; we were a little lost. George told us he was a believer, so we'll likely be back again sometime to talk with him some more.
Kevin, i thought you might like this: he lives on the Via Dolorosa.
